The small Israeli town of Sderot is enveloping itself in a blanket of concrete. Schools and nurseries crouch below hulking canopies, dozens of bomb-shelters dot the urban landscape and even the bulletproof windows of one school have been provided with thick overhanging slabs. The town’s open-air bus stops are being replaced with concrete cubicles. The profusion of concrete is a determined, but ultimately futile, attempt to shield Sderot’s 20,000 citizens from the Kassam rockets that are fired into the town every day by Palestinian militants from Gaza.

“It’s like Russian roulette. If it’s your day you are finished,” says Tiger Avraham, the head of the local paramedic team. “Children don’t go outside and you cannot walk far from home. It’s hard to live like this.”

Israel’s military planners are tormented by the thought of a rocket blowing up a Sderot school bus or inflicting a large number of civilian deaths through a direct hit.

Palestinian muzbots doing what they do best – killing Jews. This is Israel’s reward for sitting down and negotiating with Muslim barbarians (sorry for the oxymoron) who have not evolved since the 7th century. Where’s the international outrage? Via Ynet:

Ido Zoldan, 29 and a father of two, was murdered in a Muslim terrorist shooting attack in Samaria around 11:00 pm Monday night.

Palestinian Authority Muslim terrorists fired on the man as he drove past the village of Funduk, near Kedumim. Paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to save his life.

Zoldan, of Shavei Shomron, will be buried on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Kedumim. He is survived by his wife Tehila and his two small children, three-year-old Aharon and one-year-old Rachel. The family moved to Shavei Shomron after they were displaced from Homesh in the Disengagement of 2005.

According to initial information, a Muslim terrorist cell was waiting in ambush in the area for Israeli vehicles. When Ido, who was riding alone, came into range, the enemy attackers sprayed the vehicle with gunfire. The driver was critically injured, with multiple gunshot wounds, and he apparently died within minutes.

The Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said it carried out the attack to demonstrate its opposition to the planned Annapolis conference. IDF officials have warned that terrorists will increase their efforts to harm Israelis during the days leading up to the meeting. The conference will be held at some point in the next 30 days, which, according to recent reports, could mean as early as next week.

After his expulsion from Homesh, Ido Zoldan became one of the core leaders of the Homesh First movement, which seeks to reestablish a Jewish presence in the Samaria town.

The terror victim’s father, Nachman Zoldan, is among the leading building contractors in Judea and Samaria. Ido had joined his father in the Kedumim 3000 Company, which has been responsible for construction projects throughout Jude, Samaria and Gaza. According to a relative of the family, Amatzia Haeitan, the Zoldan family “builds for the sake of ideology and in order to build up the Land of Israel.” Haeitan said that the younger Zoldan had introduced the idea of seeking out Jewish labor for work on the company’s construction sites.

“He lived this land and the people of Israel,” Haeitan added, “and he was always happy.”

On Monday night, the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha) called the killing Israel’s “reward” for agreeing earlier in the day to release 441 more Arab terrorists from prison.

On December 8, 1983, a child named Dani Katz walked to the street outside his parent’s home in the Dania neighborhood of Haifa. He was 14. His parents were Holocaust survivors.

Outside the home, he was kidnapped by a group of Arabs from the Israeli Galilee town of Sakhnin who held jobs in the Dania neighborhood. They took him to a cave near Sakhnin. There they tortured him in the most brutal and horrific way imaginable. They eventually murdered him. After murdering him they sodomized the corpse. They then left him there to rot.

Police unraveled the crime and arrested the five murderers, who confessed and reenacted the crimes.

The lawyer for the accused was far-leftist Avigdor Feldman. Feldman has devoted much of his career to defending terrorists, extremists and traitors. He defended Mordecai Vanunu (nuclear spy), Marcus Klinberg (Soviet spy), Tali Fahima (who did jail time for helping her Palestinian terrorist boyfriend plan atrocities), Teddy Katz (Ilan Pappe’s student who fabricated the Tantura massacre), and others.

Some Israeli leftist groups have been rallying support ever since for the murderers (see for example in Hebrew only: here; also anti-Zionist journalist Tom Segev’s comments: here)

In 1982 a female soldier named Dafna Carmon was raped and murdered outside her home Two of the murderers of Dani Katz were also convicted of murdering her. They were also represented in that trial by Feldman.

Some Arab Knesset members had been lobbying for the release of the murderers. The “appeals commission” of the Justice Ministry recently recommended that the five murderers have their sentences “shortened.” Shimon Peres as President made it official, which means that they will be released from prison within the next few days.

IDF SPOKESPERSON UPDATE

Palestinian sentenced to eight life terms for his involvement in the murder of two civilians and the killing of six IDF soldiers

On July 16th 2007, the Military Court of Judea sentenced Shadi Sayid Suleiman Sayidah to eight consecutive life terms. Sayidah was convicted of the following crimes:

The killing, along with an accomplice, of six IDF soldiers in the attack on the Ein Ariq crossing in February 2002.

The murder of Muhammad Hassin Ibrahim Azamkaneh, suspected by Sayidah to be cooperating with Israel, in September 2003.

Involvement in the attack at the Tel Aviv promenade in July 2003 in which Amir Simhon was stabbed and murdered.

From Palestinian Terrorists Planned to Blow Up Synagogue, Kidnap U.S. Citizens:

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) uncovered a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) cell that had planned a series of attacks, including bombing a Modi’in synagogue and kidnapping U.S. citizens in the West Bank, according to information made public Tuesday. PFLP member Ramzi Sharona, who had been illegally working as a laborer in Modi’in, said he intended to plant an explosive device in a nearby synagogue, blow it up, and then flee to Ramallah. In addition, the cell was planning to kidnap U.S. civilians in order to swap them for jailed PFLP leader Ahmed Sa’adat, shoot motorists on a Modi’in road, and attack Israel Defense Forces soldiers in Hebron.

In one way, it is a good thing that Hamas has taken over Gaza completely because now people will see that there is no pretense of the palestinians being a civilized poeple. They elected Hamas, they got what they wanted, and now the hold world will be able to see clearly that they are nothing but a bunch of criminals and terrorists. There is no pretense to civility anymore. There is no semblance of them being a civilized people. They are murderers bent on the destruction of Israel. From Hamas bans masks for Gaza gunmen:

In their first order since seizing control of the Gaza Strip, Hamas Islamists banned gunmen from wearing masks – unless they are shooting at Israel.

The masks have become commonplace in the Gaza Strip during weeks of factional fighting between the ruling Hamas movement and President Mahmoud Abbas’s secular Fatah faction.

Both sides wore the masks to hide their identities.

“A decision was taken last night to prevent (people from wearing) masks,” Khaled Abu Hilal, a spokesman for the Hamas-controlled Interior Ministry, said.

Hamas made one exception, for militants carrying out cross-border attacks on Israel.

“Wearing masks should only be near the borders and in fighting the Zionist enemy, not in the streets and near people’s homes,” Abu Hilal said.

It’s good that the palestinian serial killers will be wearing masks when they attempt to murder Jews; it will make it easier for the IDF to identify them, then blow them away. It will eliminate any Friend or Foe issues completely.

Israel today arrested a longtime wanted terror leader here in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
According to Israeli security officials and Palestinian sources in Ramallah speaking to WND, the terrorist was arrested while having car sex just a few hundred feet from late PLO leader Yasser Arafat’s gravesite.

Khaled Shawish was captured by undercover Israeli police forces following scores of shooting attacks he is suspected of carrying out. Shawish, who doubles as the Ramallah chief of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group, previously boasted of involvement in a West Bank shooting attack in December 2000 that killed Israeli ultranationalist leader Benjamin Kahane and Kahane’s wife, Talya, and seriously wounded their five daughters.

According to Israeli security officials and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades sources in Ramallah, Shawish was arrested after the Israeli police stormed his jeep, which was parked in a lot outside the Muqata, about 200 feet from Arafat’s grave. The sources said at the time of his arrest, Shawish was having intercourse in the back seat of his jeep with a Palestinian woman, whose identity is being withheld by WND. The woman was not his wife.

The Fatah-linked murderer was responsible for the deaths of eighteen other people and the wounding of dozens in numerous attacks, including several in and around Jerusalem. Among the attacks orchestrated by Shawish were:

- a 2002 suicide bombing on King George Street in Jerusalem
- a 2002 suicide bombing by a female terrorist at a checkpoint just outside Jerusalem
- a shooting attack in the French Hill neighborhood of Jerusalem

From Qassam Rocket Wounds Two Near Sderot:

Two people were wounded, one moderately, by a Qassam rocket strike Sunday on a gas station near the western Negev town of Sderot. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. Later Sunday, two more Qassam rockets struck open areas in the western Negev, causing no damage or injuries. Earlier Sunday, an Israeli security guard for a fuel truck was seriously wounded in a shooting attack on a vehicle west of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

From Pakistani Scientist A.Q. Khan Aided Iran, His Nuclear-Secrets Network May Still Be Active:

Evidence presented this week by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies suggests that Pakistan’s nuclear proliferation network, run by scientist A.Q. Khan, is not truly dead.

Its report also reveals that Khan “provided Iran with centrifuges, technical designs, components, and an ‘address book’ of suppliers.”

The report suggests that “at least some of Khan’s associates appear to have escaped law-enforcement attention and could, after a period of lying low, resume their black-market business.”

Their most likely client is Iran, which “remains the most active customer in the international nuclear black market.”
